How we can support you with your Access to Work claim.

(Without the Stress, the Jargon, or the Bullsht)*

Let’s get one thing straight from the start. Access to Work is not a favour.
It is a right.

And yet, so many brilliant, capable, neurodivergent business owners and employees feel exhausted, overwhelmed, or completely defeated by a system that is meant to support them.

That is where we come in.

At Leighway Consulting, we do not just “help with Access to Work claims.”
We advocate. We translate. We challenge. And we stand shoulder to shoulder with you until you get the support you actually deserve.

Loudly, kindly, and unapologetically.

What Is Access to Work (And Why So Many People Struggle With It)?

Access to Work is a UK government scheme designed to help disabled and neurodivergent people stay in employment or self-employment. In theory, it is brilliant. In reality, it often comes with confusing forms, inconsistent guidance, long delays, and very little understanding of how neurodivergence actually shows up day to day.

You are expected to explain your needs clearly, advocate for yourself confidently, navigate bureaucracy calmly, and chase updates relentlessly. All while trying to do your actual job.

If that feels ironic, frustrating, or deeply unfair, you are not imagining it.

How We Support You With Your Access to Work Claim

We do not hand you a checklist and send you on your way.
We walk the whole road with you.

1. We Help You Understand What You Are Entitled To

Many people under-ask simply because they do not realise what support is available. We help you explore what could genuinely make work more sustainable for you. That might include workplace adjustments, coaching or mentoring, assistive technology, specialist software, or business support.

This is not about what looks reasonable on paper. It is about what actually works in real life.

2. We Help You Articulate Your Needs Without Diluting Them

You should not have to downplay your experience to be taken seriously. We support you to put your needs into words clearly, confidently, and strategically, without masking, apologising, or softening the truth.

Your brain is not broken.
The system just was not built with you in mind.

3. We Reduce the Overwhelm

Forms, emails, follow-ups, delays and decisions can quickly become another source of stress, shutdown, or avoidance. We help hold the structure when yours is already stretched, so the process does not become yet another thing draining your energy.

You do not have to carry it all alone.

4. We Advocate When Things Do Not Feel Right

If something feels off, we do not tell you to be grateful and accept it. We help you question decisions, ask for clarity, and challenge outcomes that do not reflect your actual needs.

You are allowed to expect better support.
Needing help does not mean you owe anyone silence.

A Team of Female Badass Business Besties Who Actually Get It

We are a female-led team who believe that support should feel human, neurodivergence is not a flaw, and work should not cost you your health.

We are ND-friendly, trauma-aware, and values-led to our core. Many of us have lived experience of navigating systems that were never designed with us in mind, which means we do not judge, rush, or patronise.

You will not get corporate waffle.
You will not get toxic productivity advice.
And you definitely will not get asked if you have “tried being more organised.”

You will get real support from people who understand how hard this can be.

Why Access to Work Actually Matters

When Access to Work is done properly, it prevents burnout, reduces masking, and allows people to build sustainable careers that work with their brains, not against them.

This is not about special treatment.
It is about equity.

We are passionate advocates for doing this properly, not quietly suffering, not pushing through at all costs, and not losing brilliant people because a system failed to adapt.

You Do Not Have to Do This Alone

If you are thinking, “I do not even know where to start,” “I tried before and it was a nightmare,” or “I am exhausted just thinking about it,” that is your sign.

We will meet you where you are, help you find the words, and support you through the process with clarity, care, and zero judgement.

Because support should actually feel like support.
And no one thrives in survival mode.
